For years I’ve tagged my photos of this gorgeous bloomer “Epiphyte” … thanks for your Wikipedia reference … my “license” to not go rename all those photos! You’ve inspired me to plan ahead and watch a bloom open (next year – already too chilly here in Texas for further blooming) . Does bloom open fully from first unfolded petal in about an hour? Or sudden burst? I’ve always encountered them fully open.
