The only National Forest in New York State, this land is visible as a ridge to the west of our home. Here we are on the west side, the ridge of Seneca Lake in the distance.

One of my favorite weekends away! We stayed in the only National Forest in New York State in the only private B&B in the forest, the Red House Country Inn. https://redhousecountryinn.net/. It was truly an experience with chickens outside and hiking trails right out the door. Lucky you to live so close to such a beautiful forest!

You were fortunate to discover the place, Pam., the forest is a patchwork of public and private land. The photograph was taken just up that road.

I walked that road down to the church soon after the sun rose and it was so beautiful.

I know that building…..white steeple. It is a community center now. Will put up some photos of it eventually. “Stay tuned”

This reminds me, Michael, of our Australian outback!
I guess the world is abounding in similarities.
