One possibility is that this is a waterfall and the crack leads into the space behind the frozen flower of water. LikeLiked by 1 person
Now if only we could temporarily move it to Austin so I could photograph it too…. LikeLiked by 1 person
It is not cold enough this winter to freeze it up. Taughannock Falls is a 200+foot fall that has frozen in past years. LikeLike
I’ve been to Taughannock Falls, but not in winter and not since decades ago. It’d be worth revisiting. Too bad it hasn’t frozen yet this season—or maybe you’re thankful to have a mild winter. LikeLiked by 1 person
It’s a good question! I’d like to know too. Very cool series of posts. Spectacular image, Michael! Blessings — Debbie LikeLiked by 1 person
“Fracture” is a good title for what seems to be a cracked wall of ice.

There has not been a long enough cold spell this season. It is worrying, actually.
