When Pam and I lived in an converted mill house on Malloryville Road one walk we’d take with cameras was out the front door, turn right and walk the road to the hilltop to take in the views.

What beautiful light! And what fond memories these images must evoke. Thank you for sharing them here.

Wonderful! Coincidentally, it was just last summer when my husband and I were driving from Ithaca to Albany, that we just had to stop next to a cornfield and take a picture. The lighting in your image of the tall cornstalks is stunning.

Dear Mike, I came back to the blog too late to answer your question about the sycamore leaf. I wanted to answer you that I’m not very optimistic. The only thing we can do on our small scale is to bear witness to the beauty of nature, in photos and in text. Thank you for your beautiful images !

I looked up with a few days stay at Killarney Lodge in Algonquin Park would cost and WOW is that dear. Where would you recommend is a reasonably priced and comfortable place to stay in the area?

Algonquin Provincial Park offers some roofed accommodations, either a yurt or rustic cabin, that are much more reasonably priced (just under $140 CAD a night). But they can be hard to book, especially during peak season. Reservations typically open 5 months in advance of the date you want to visit at 7am. I’ve managed to book a yurt a couple of times at Mew Lake Campground, but we’ve gone in November. The yurt (or cabin) is pretty basic, but comes fully furnished, and there’s a comfort station nearby with showers, washrooms and running water. When were you thinking of visiting?

Thanks, Maggie (?) for this recommendation. Nothing definite, we’d go mid-September for the foliage.

Michael, your photography praises the work of our dedicated farmers. I am blessed to be within ten minutes of seeing cropland in our semi-urban setting.
