Now and then a photograph comes along that stands by itself. For this, the fifth post of this series (Click me for the first post, “Endless Searching“), we explore images that speak for themselves.

“Another Day in Paradise”
Humans are hard coded to relish scenes of water and land. This day I headed out with the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III mounted with the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L USM lens for handheld shots.

Had the osprey actually picked up fishing gear?

Yes!! That is a hooked fish with two (shiny) lures and a lead weight (“sinker”), all connected with line. “Hook, Line and Sinker.” I have other photos with the bird flying away, so the line was broken.

The close-up shots of the osprey are impressive. Your amazing words add to the description. You have lasting patience to wait and discover these types of moments.

Hook, line and sinker!
I wonder, Michael, if this ended well for the osprey?

It flew away without a problem….I am sure it ate around the hook
