Bloom #2 of this season. Two more in the wings. I broke out the flash and the Canon 100 mm “macro” lens for this series taken an hour after sunrise before this one-night-only bloom wilted.

The right and precise moment to reveal the beauty of the flower.
Wonderful photos to recreate the day.

Lovely! This brought back a childhood memory for me. Our neighbor had one of these plants and called us to come over the night it bloomed. I captured the event on my Kodak Hawkeye camera in black and white, of course. It was probably around 1962. I haven’t seen one in bloom since. Thanks for sharing.

It is a rare and memorable experience, it was so kind of your neighbor to gift you with it.

It is a memory I cherish, it was a surprise to find the plant offered in a local farm story. In their greenhouse, a large plant had blooms underway.
