On a day in late October 2017 Pam and Mike did a photography walk. Here is Pam pausing to pose during a descent into the gorge on the cliff staircase after visiting the overlook high above Lucifer Falls, Robert H. Treman New York State Park in the Finger Lakes Region.

An amazing place! So much to see, and I imagine each visit brings something new to see.

I am definitely a little envious, Michael. You, Pam & Mike sure are fortunate to have such wonderful country to hike.
Great images!

I am now going to admire that stone wall along side the beautifully made path!

The wall was laid down 340 million years ago, in the Silurian era, when this land was under a shallow sea being slowly filled by erosion from a mountain range the size of today’s Himalayas.

Your post has reminded me just how long it’s been since our last visit to the Finger Lakes area. We walked up Buttermilk Falls and walked the gorge at Watkins Glen. It was a wonderful adventure.

The Finger Lakes are still a wonder. This year we had some bad summer days from the wildfire smoke, otherwise the glens are the same. Watkins Glen park should be avoided in the summer due to overcrowding. Not at all enjoyable.
