Sure is, we hit freezing last night so the leaf turn is in the works. That photo is from a earlier season.

Oh, I love this time of year, Michael.
Naturally, in the southern hemisphere spring has just begun – my second favourite season.
What a surprise regarding the possibility of the sap boiling down to maple syrup in the early spring. Yum! I know I’d definitely try it if I could.

I have what I thought was supposed to be a red maple on my curb strip. It started little, but is quite large now. It’s neither the first to bloom or turn, and alas, goes nearly all yellows and oranges with only a bit of red. Still nice though. (Except all the raking… 😉 )

Its all good….maples can be prolific spreaders of samaras, winged seeds. I spent a bit of time each year pulling seedlings from a neighbor’s tree.
