These photos remind me of the seep sometimes seen in the Sideling Hill Cut along Interstate 68 not far from Hancock, Maryland.

Many highways in New York traverse cuts through rock where the interrupted ground water flow emerges in huge bodies of ice. My photographs are a different phenomenon. Relatively tiny amounts of water freeze in sudden April freezes.
